Replay Coach

How it works

Five steps from a file on your PC to a review you can act on. The part you wait for takes about a minute.

  1. Find your replay

Fortnite saves replay files on PC when replay recording is on: Settings, the Game tab, the Replays section at the bottom. Then open File Explorer, paste this into the address bar and press Enter:

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\FortniteGame\Saved\Demos

Each match is one .replay file, named with the date and time it was played.

    Demos folderExample
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\FortniteGame\Saved\Demos
    • UnsavedReplay-2026.10.03-18.00.31.replay9 MB
    • UnsavedReplay-2026.10.03-17.33.48.replay12 MB
    • UnsavedReplay-2026.10.02-19.51.24.replay16 MB
    • UnsavedReplay-2026.10.02-19.36.58.replay11 MB
  2. Upload it

Sign in with Google, then drop the file on the My matches page. Files up to 80 MB are accepted, and they are sent in small pieces so large replays get through.

    • Battle Royale and Reload matches
    • Solo and team modes, including tournaments

  3. The match is read, measured and checked

You see each stage as it happens.

    • Reading the replay
    • Working out what happened
    • Writing your coaching
    • Saving your match
    • Reading. Positions, hits, health, eliminations and storm circles come out of the file. The file is then deleted.
    • Measuring. Rules find the key moments and measure the fights and the storm circles.
    • Writing. An AI model writes the coaching from those measurements and the playbook.
    • Checking. Numbers and clock times in the coaching are looked up in the replay. A note that does not match is sent back, and removed if it still fails.
  4. Watch your highlights

Your match opens as a top-down replay. Press the highlights button and each key moment plays in order: the lead-up, a pause, then what went well and what cost you.

    • Follow yourself or see the whole map
    • Scrub the timeline, or play at up to 8 times speed
    • Select any flagged moment to replay just that one
    Flagged momentsExample

Won the trade from range Good play

At the lodge, 43 m out

You landed 3 hits for 126 and took nothing back. You broke their shield.

    Outnumbered after a push Mistake

    220 m north-east of the lodge

You moved 40 m in with no entry damage. A second player opened on you 1 second later from 3 m.

Lost 314 health to the storm Fine by the plan

    Zones 2 to 4

Storm time is not treated as a mistake on its own. It is weighed against what it cost you later.

    Third-partied after a win Unlucky

200 m east of the neighbourhood

A new player opened on you 3 seconds after your elimination, from 2 m.

  5. Read the coaching, then go and play

The coach's read gives a short summary, up to three things to work on, and notes on the storm circles that mattered. Your match stays in your list so you can come back to it.

    Coach's readExample

    Mistake

At 3:25 you moved 40 m onto an opponent and the first hit came at 9 m, with 0 entry damage on them. Rule 5 asks for 70 to 80 first. You broke their shield for 42, but they hit you for 80 and a second player, who had been within 60 m for 14 seconds, added 137 from 3 m.

Next time: tag from range until you have 70 to 80 on one of them, then close.

When a replay does not go through

None of these use up your free review.

Not supported

Creative map matches, and replays that end before the match gets going, are turned away with a message.

Could not be read

The file is damaged, or it comes from a game version the reader has not caught up with yet.

No coaching

The replay was read but the writing step failed. You still get the match page, marked "No coaching".
